| A MEDITATION
|
He makes me to be
A pool of still water.
I find a space to be alone
And a silence grows
Centred on God –
A small pool of stillness
In the heart of a noisy world.
Beyond is a frenzy of activity,
Roads, buildings, traffic…
But here is a small pool of calm
And I am still
Focused,
Waiting for nothing,
Only for God. |
He makes me to be
A bubbling stream.
The journey is all –
The dance of the spirit,
Words and laughter to share
In the heart of a hard-angled world.
On each side,
Metal shutters, locked doors…
But here is a soft flowing
Gentle movement
Stopping at nothing,
Only at God. |
He makes me to be
A burning fire.
I cannot be still.
I cannot be quiet.
There are words to be spoken,
Things to cry out,
Tears to shed,
People to love
In the heart of an unfair world.
On every side,
Profit, competition, domination…
But here are flames,
Burning together –
Solving nothing, though,
Apart from God,
The Holy Fire.
